The World of Woolnia

Once upon a time there was a place, where everything was made of wool. Knitted with bare hands and lots of love interwoven into every stitch, using the highest quality material, to create products soft like a cloud, tender and warm. That place was called Woolnia. Its founders, lovely couple Vanja and Nenad, created Woolnia with a vision to make their own version of hand-knitted, chunky blankets, scarves and other products made of exquisite Merino wool.

Woolnia is a brand which tells their family story, a place “where the senses knit” to perfection, to make products that will awaken your senses. And this is exactly the effect Woolnia blanket had on us, when we first discovered it in a blog post of our favorite Serbian blogger and an amazing girl Branislava. Literary a few minutes after reading Brana’s post, we decided to contact Vanja and Nenad, and in just a couple of days, our freshly knitted, bundle of joy arrived to our doors in Vienna. With the same excitement as kids, while opening their Christmas presents to finally discover if they got what they asked for from Santa, we have unpacked our baby blue blanket. The moment of truth was the touch test, as we were previously worried that it could be scratchy, as wool usually is. This was the crucial thing, because I (Una) am actually allergic to wool. For me even Cashmere feels itchy and causes rash. But not Woolnia. This blanket was pure perfection – incredibly soft, warm and gorgeous.

We had to share this post on our blog, because we truly fell in love with the quality and design of Woolnia blankets and felt so proud that they are coming from our home country Serbia. We wanted to share the story of this little family with big dreams from the city of Zrenjanin with our Viennese and world wide readers, because we are sure that many of you would love Woolnia products as much as we do!
